This article is the first in a series of ten sections that dealt with individual components of dry vans and how they are related to long-term stability of your trailer.

One of the most important elements of enclosed trailers is their wall construction. Wall construction come in a variety of combinations. Most trailers enclosed used aluminum, steel, galvanized steel Galvaneal sometimes called, or FRP. For members of the cross-wall, steel or aluminum is used. Attached to the members of the Cross is made of plywood, Luan, aluminum or a combination thereof.

Exterior

Most commonly used is aluminum exterior. Normally, by varying the thickness , 024 -, 050, aluminum is the most common form of the outdoors. It is durable, lasts longer and does not rust. It is the lightest materials used outside of an enclosed trailer. They are applied in panels with screws, rivets, 3M tape or epoxy industry. Use thicker aluminum outdoor generally increases stabilization of the trailer and preserve the aesthetics of the trailer longer. FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics) is a base of fiberglass wall rather than long-lasting and easy to repair. PAF is normally available only in white. Steel and galvanized steel on the outside are generally less desirable because they rust and tend to deteriorate rapidly.

Members Cross

The materials used to construct the wall ties are made of steel or aluminum. The variety of steel is implemented using either a z-channel, after the hat or box tube. Post Hat implementations use the same configuration as steel road signs, while Z-channel is a post cap cut in half. A tube box has steel on all four sides and is generally considered the most desirable given the strength. Z-channel is the least desirable because of their strength while the post cap is a compromise between cost and Tube Box Z-channel. For commercial uses, or if your request requires devices attached to the wall, a tube Box is a must. In general, enclosed trailers hot after a z-channel tend to have their outdoor look "wavy" over time. Normally, the ties are 16 "center. Some manufacturers use 24" on center, consumers should Beware of these trailers if they also use Z-hat channel or post due to lack of strength.

Wall Material

Generally, with Post hat and Z-channel, the walls have reinforced plywood. Plywood give more weight during luan with tube box. Looking long term, it is more economical to pay more for a tub wall box trailer if the trailer is used frequently because of fuel costs added. Aluminum walls inside are aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean. Some trailers offer a white vinyl coating on designer called luan board. These walls are also easy cleaned with a lower cost than aluminum.
