Do you have to lubricate a ball hitch or towing hitch when?

We had just returned from a camping trip short my trailer hitch and had stopped on the ball and it was really difficult to remove. The coupler lock had some gouging in the ball when all is said and done. We had just bought this new balloon to accommodate our new van and I do not know if I was supposed to lubricate the ball or if I just need to loosen the coupler locking mechanism to make the problem does not occur in the future. If the ball is the recommended size (should be stamped on the side of the trailer hitch), the problem is with the latch part of the coupling the ball. It should be greased and worked in and out several timed with a lubricant spray. Unlike to a semi-trailer or fifth wheel couplings, you do not actually grease the ball and hitch connection. it is not the same quantity forces or friction. your team has been sitting for a while and just took a little rust on the part ltach. Have fun camping!
